Are You Uninsured?

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

Welcome to the Substance Abuse Prevention Program and Coalition!

About Us

The Substance Abuse Prevention Program operates through the Community Resource Center of Johnson County and is funded by the Wyoming Department of Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Division.  The program was structured around a strategic prevention framework first introduced in the State Incentive Grant and later in the present Wyoming Prevention Framework Community Grant.

Our Mission

The mission of the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (SAPC) is to promote a lifestyle without the misuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Our Vision

The vision of the SAPC is to build a community that works together on drug and alcohol issues for current and future generations. We will provide information about the social and health consequences of misusing alcohol and other drugs to increase awareness regarding substance abuse.

Our Goals

1)          Expansion and improvement of the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition.

2)          Increase membership and activities of the two Buffalo High School student groups:  SPEAR – Students Providing Education about Alcohol Risks and
TIB – Take It Back!

3)          Continued development of community education resources, programs and marketing.

4)          Provide responsible beverage training (TIPS) to county alcohol vendors

5)          Increase community awareness of social hosting laws.

6)          Documentation of alcohol compliance checks by local law enforcement.

7)     Develop a parent group for education and program support.
