HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND RAPID RE-HOUSING
HPRP
The
Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing
program (HPRP) operates through the
Community Resource Center of Johnson County
and is funding by the Department of Housing
and Urban Development (HUD).
Program overview:
The primary focus of this program is to
assist low-income families and/or
individuals who have not yet become homeless
but will become homeless if they do not
receive HPRP assistance. Financial
assistance is to be used for rent and/or
utility bills. The emphasis is on
identifying the most pressing needs and
using HPRP, or other sources within the
community to meet those needs. Individuals,
who qualify for HPRP, will work with the
case manger to develop a plan that will
identify circumstances and/or behaviors that
may be contributing to their current
financial crisis. The program is designed
to quickly stabilize households and is not
meant to offer long term/on-going
assistance.
The primary goal of HPRP is achieve housing
stability. The primary goal of the case
worker is to work with families and/or
individuals to develop and support system
that will serve to ensure financial
self-sufficiency.
